The GLUGOT (pronounced as gloo-gawt) is the GNU/Linux forum of Thiagarajar College of Engineering. GLUGOT stands for GNU/Linux User Group of TCE. This group has been functional since 20-12-2003. This group promotes Free Software and the spirit of co-operation among students of TCE. This group has also contributed to the community in the form of awareness meetings and sessions. This group facilitates the meeting of GLUG-Madurai (GNU/Linux User Group of Madurai) in the TCE campus every month.
The group regularly conducts training programs and technical meetings to teach students on Free Software related technologies. Sometimes these meetings are clubbed with the GLUG-Madurai meetings. But the group also caters to the specific needs of TCE students. The group also has a support mailing list hosted on the TCE Mailserver. To join the mailing list visit link (http://lists.tce.edu/mailman/listinfo/glugot ).
The Electrical people have their motors to break down, the Mechanical people have their lathes to rip apart. But poor Computer Science Engineers have been deprived of their right to knowledge by proprietary non-free software. Lets put an end to this social evil. Join GLUGOT today and start using Free Software. Feel the freedom we experience. Lets take the world ahead into the next generation of Open Computing. For suggestions and Queries email to glugot-owner@tce.edu
